We opened the new Retford store on Saturday 11th of June, and would like to thank everybody that attended the opening weekend, wow we were truly blown away by the reception. We were delighted by what the Retford times had to say about us:-
BRIDES-TO-BE are about to have a brand new range of wedding dress options open to them this weekend as new bridal store It’s Bliss opens its doors on Saturday and Sunday.
The Carolgate shop will be introducing its stock to customers at reduced rates this weekend, providing a great reason to browse the extensive selection of over 200 dresses in store.
Any wedding dress purchased this weekend will even come with a free tiara, worth up to £150.
Proprietor Paula Coates said the business, which has stores in Doncaster and Mexborough, set up shop in the town after learning large numbers of women were travelling as far away as Nottingham in pursuit of a good dress.
“That led us to think, if these ladies are coming out to travel to us, we should have a look at this town see if we could bring the shop to them,” she explained.
“I think generally the thing that makes a difference is the choice we have.
“We have over 200 gowns and the choice is important, so we have lots of different options.”
While the sheer choice available at It’s Bliss is undoubtedly a selling point, the other key factor in the business is its customer service.
Paula, together with husband Andrew, bought the 20-year-old It’s Bliss firm from its original owners seven years ago, and has kept top customer service at the heart of the business model.
New staff have been recruited for the Retford store and have been specially trained ahead of its opening, while colleagues in the Doncaster premises share over 100 years of experience between them.
For Paula, the store is not solely about selling the dresses to prospective customers – it’s about helping them realise their wedding dreams.
“This is not about selling wedding dresses – a wedding dress is not something that should be a hard sell,” she added.
“This is something that should be the dress of their dreams.”
On first walking in to It’s Bliss, customers shouldn’t expect to see a row of white dresses at first glance – instead, the shop front holds the store’s other line of products - prom and party wear.
The three store floors also hold two bridal lounges and four private fitting rooms, giving potential customers a discreet, private environment in which to search for, and perhaps try on, the dress of their dreams.
