Sometimes brides have a specific idea of what style of wedding dress they want, many will have looked at pictures in magazines or on the internet to get an idea of styles they like. However at It’s Bliss, we know that the best way to find out what style of dress is best for you is to try on different styles to see what suits and what doesn’t plus it can be lots of fun !. Its best to make an appointment if you can , we will try and see you if you come on spec but we can be really busy especially on Saturdays so to make sure we reserve you a fitting room just give us a call or email us to let us know when you want to come . We usually allocate about one and a half hours for a bridal appointment giving you lots of time to try on various styles .There are a few general rules that apply as to which styles would suit different body shapes but often people cross over into different categories so trying on is really the best option. Feel free to bring Mum, sister or chief bridesmaid if you value their opinion , however be warned, sometimes it is best to limit the number of people you bring as it can be a bit overwhelming if you get lots of different opinions!. You will have your own personal advisor and fitting area for your appointment and our job is simple , we help you relax and help you choose styles & designs you like , help you in an out of the gowns and offer you real opinions and honest advice about what suits you best . We promise not to tell you that you look wonderful in every gown you try on, we promise we will just tell you the truth and help you find the dress of your dreams which makes you look and feel fabulous,> remember you are our advertisement and if we do our job well everyone who sees you will know we did a great job! When looking for your perfect dress think what is your best and worst feature, the perfect dress will disguise or draw attention from your least favourite parts and highlight all the best bits.
Wedding gowns and bridesmaids dresses take approximately 16 to 20 weeks for delivery. And gowns are ordered in the nearest size to you so will probably need a few tweaks (if only we all had the perfect figure!) Fittings usually start 2 to 3 months before the wedding and final fittings around six weeks before. It’s important to leave plenty of time when ordering your dress to fit these dates into your plans. If time is running short though don’t panic check our Here & Now collection or talk to us about express delivery which is available on selected gowns. Once you have chosen your dress and placed an order, you will be asked to sign a contract and pay your deposit, 50% is standard with the final balance due when you have your first fitting, Don’t Panic if this seems too much for your budget at this time there are other payment plan options if you would rather spread the cost over a longer period of time with a deposit as low as 25%. It is worth mentioning the sizes of wedding dresses as they are very different to your regular dress sizes. The size of your normal clothes is made to British Standard Sizing and wedding dresses are made from couture patterns. Sometimes this means you will need a bigger size than you would normally wear but please don’t worry Size is not important! A good fit that makes your figure look amazing it what it’s all about. We will measure you at the very beginning and your dress will be ordered from your biggest part it will then be altered to fit you perfectly when it arrives. So if your waist is a size 14 and your hips a 16, the 16 will be ordered and the waist will then be taken in to fit and to ensure you look beautiful. It’s always very exciting once your dress arrives and we will contact you as soon as it comes into stock to start your fittings. Unless you are very tall, it is likely that your dress will need taking up but it is really important that you wear the shoes and underwear you will be wearing on the day so we can make the right alterations. If you want us to do any of the alterations you require to your gown, we do charge a fee but the prices are quoted when you buy the gown so there are no Hidden extras In the final months and weeks before your wedding, you can expect to have two or three bridal gown fittings. The last fitting usually takes place about 4 weeks before the big day, Once your alterations have been made and your perfect dress is ‘perfect’ we will store your dress at the shop until the day before your wedding, along with any accessories. A few days before your arranged collection date we will steam press your gown free of charge and place it in a specially designed bridal cover so no-one can peek and all your accessories will be packaged up carefully. If you are getting married abroad then we can for a small charge pack your gown into a special box designed to fit most airline cabin specifications, that way you can take it straight on to the plane. |
